Dr. Metcalf has received extensive training from the Idaho Academy of Equine Dentistry and is a certified equine dentist. The style of dentistry is very similar to that of lay dentistry which can have both and negative or positive connotation depending on the company one keeps. We believe we can provide the best of both worlds, while providing the precision of lay dentistry and the medical expertise and safety concerns of a veterinarian. We routinely use digital radiographs and endoscopy for advanced cases. All advanced procedures, such as extractions or sinus surgeries, are performed standing, and made possible through the use of local nerve blocks and regional anesthesia eliminating the risks of general anesthesia.
